Mandibular Resection

Resection (loss) of a part of the mandible (lower jaw) usually results from treatment of tumors or pathological conditions or might be due to accidents. This causes significant patient disabilities manifested as difficulty in speech, mastication and swallowing. Prosthetic rehabilitation is usually required to restore such defects.
